Freud's Butcher: A Jewish Family Returns to Berggasse 19

Now, 80 years later, a slide show and talk by the great niece of the successful tradesman will bring back to Vienna the eight Kornmehl brothers and sisters who thrived in the city during the same period as the Freuds did, and who intersected with the family in a variety of ways.

Edie Jarolim has a Ph.D. in American literature from New York University and is the author of five books and hundreds of articles on subjects ranging from travel and restaurants to art and dogs. She teaches food writing in the journalism department of the University of Arizona. She started the Freud's Butcher blog in 2012, when she discovered a picture of her great uncle's shop on the Freud Museum website. Recently, she blogged about the installation of Oscar Nemon's Freud statue at the Medical University of Vienna for PsychologyToday.com
